How do my Dolphin's brushes work?
The brushes play a crucial role in the cleaning process by effectively rubbing and lifting debris, allowing the debris to be suctioned away more efficiently.
Certain robot models are equipped with an 'active' brush that rotates at a speed that is twice as fast as the robot's travel speed, which significantly improves the brushing action.
Types of Brushes Based on Dolphin Model and Pool Coating
There are three distinct types of brushes available, which vary depending on the specific model of your Dolphin and the type of coating present on your pool:
- PVC Brushes: These are recommended for all types of flooring and are the standard brushes found in the Active, S, and T lines.
- Combined Brushes (PVC + Foam Rings): These brushes are also recommended for all types of flooring and are the standard brushes in some models, including the Nautilus models and Premier models.
It is important to note that the climbing rings, which are made of foam, should not be removed as they assist the robot in climbing. When these climbing rings become worn and start to fall apart, they should be replaced. Click here to see how to replace the climbing rings.
Foam Brushes (optional): These are recommended specifically for extremely smooth and slippery surfaces, such as steel or very smooth mosaic tiles.
